Are you a serious basketball player, wanting to learn the game as quickly as possible? If so, one of the best investments you can make is in a top-notch portable basketball system. Portable systems are incredibly convenient. You could buy a Lifetime Basketball System today and be playing basketball that very same day. But, when you build a portable basketball system, you still must follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter very closely. And, that means right from the beginning to the last instruction on filling your basketball system. So...follow our advice, and follow this advice.

Never attempt to fill your own basketball system by using only sand. Use a bucket. Place two adults on each end of the bucket (make sure they are not too tall, or one adult will tip over backward). Have a bucket with safety foam cutouts in it; place the bucket at a height that gives the adults enough balance to stand comfortably atop the bucket.

Never attempt to install the hardware for your new basketball system from a flat surface, such as a bed, couch, or the table. The hardware may cause some instability. Instead, use a flat surface, such as a workbench, a wooden block, or other sturdy surface. It is also possible that the flat surface may cause some splintering of the wood, which will lead to gaps in the basketball system.

Never remove the screws or bolts used to attach the Basketball System to the pole. These should always be included with the Basketball System when it arrives. Do not attempt to cut any hardware required for the installation of the Basketball System by yourself, as the screws and bolts are included with the system. If you attempt to cut any of the hardware required for the system without the screws or bolts, the Basketball System could become unstable and causes an injury to one of the players.

Before removing the screws and bolts, lay the Basketball System on its side, with its legs at ground level, on the workbench. With the legs at ground level, unscrew the hardware required for the installation on one of the long, vertical poles. If possible, elevate the Basketball System so that it is at eye level, with the back of the bracket nearest the floor. With the hardware removed and the bracket elevated, lower the Basketball System into the hole on the pole, and attach the long vertical pole to the back of the bracket, with the screws provided.
